Progress so far
A feasibility study was commissioned by the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames early 2015 into the creation of a BID for Richmond Town Centre. Based on the findings of the feasibility study, Primera Corporation, a specialist regeneration consultancy experienced in creating private & public sector partnerships, was commissioned to develop the BID concept further and take it through a formal consultation and BID ballot.
Jan to Feb 16 Perception Analysis – Businesses are canvassed on their views and key priorities for the area. Once all data has been gathered, it is collated into a summary document.
March to April 16 Based on this document, if a majority of businesses demonstrate a willingness to participate in a BID, a BID Proposal is developed along with a 5-year Business Plan.
April to June 16 Statutory clearances and approval are sought from local council and Secretary of State before a BID Ballot process can commence.
July to Sept 16 Primera Corporation then engages again with the businesses to explain the Business Plan and encourage their participation in the ballot.
7 September 16 BID Proposal launch event
29 September 16 BID ballot commences - businesses receive ballot papers and return them by post.
27 October 16 BID ballot closes.
28 October 16 Result is known. .
1 April 2017 Anticipated start date for establishment of BID company.
